    Default 9500i terrible ramp up

So i got a 9500i from a buddy that was paranoid about using a RD and getting caught. So i thought i'd give it a try, the serial is 1609, so it's AFTER the ramp up fix.

I updated it to the latest firmware 2/10. and boy.. the ramp up is terrible, almost all of my encounters with Ka and K band the detector will go from no alert to full blast. or occasionally it'll go from a few bars then full blast.

I had a Ka from my STI R, about 5 miles later, i come to a slight bend. the 9500i was quiet the whole time, at this point the STI R is going fast. as the leo comes around the slight bend, the 9500i goes full blast Ka when he's about 600 feet away. DOH.

Should i send it in? Not sure what to do. I'm just playing with it for now. It wont be replacing my V1/STI R combo.. i just wanted to keep it as a backup for when i switch cars.

The main reason i use it: The female voice.. it's very calming.. it's much nicer than my caveman alerts from the STI R...

Eh, I wouldn't. You already have a STi and 9500ix as backups. You need another RD in cause your STi-r, V1, STi, and 9500ix all die out on you?

As for the ramp up, it has always been bad (ramp up fix or not). My 9500i's RU is horrible as well:

The 9500 series all have poor ramp up. Basically 2-2-4-4 slow down 8-8 There he is.

I learned to appreciate it do to the fact it doesn't false much and when it did go off i took it seriously and slowed down immediately.

I still miss the peace and quiet of my 9500ix, but i do appreciate the extra sensitivity. I did really like the ci ix combo for the ix's voice alerts and the ability to run Spec & Expert at the same time. Cant wait to get my 9500ix back with the new updates and TSR. Ill post if ramp up is fixed, but it probably wont be.

Look at it the way i do with my V1 ci combo, ci goes off the V1 confirms it.

My ix is very sensitive and has great range but the ramp is terrible. My Sti-R, V1 and even the X50 have very nice smooth ramp up.

Just the nature of the beast. This is certainly a point of emphasis that Escort should work on with the ix....and yes quick trigger as well!

The ci doesn't have voice? I never knew that! I can't believe they would leave something like that out of their top of the line product!?

It does, but my #1 most favorite feature of the 9500ix is the "Multiple Frequency's Detected" announcement, and the 9500ci doesn't have it

Gotcha. I just can't imagine the though process at Escort giving windshield mount radars features and not putting all those features together in their biggest and greatest product. Then again, no one knows why most companies do some of the dumb things they do.

WTF Belscort! These guys make all these real good features.... and then spread them out amongst multiple detectors.

They could have the ultimate windshield mount: Redline ix
They could have the ultimate remote mount: STi-R plus (well they do they just don't sell it here)

But these things don't exist or I can't buy them lol
