I voted no on the X50 for the simple fact that my original 8500 has a lot better range on Ka.

    From Escort's site:

    X-treme Radar Range
The Passport 8500 X50's new "V-Tuned" radar receiver provides extreme detection range on all police radar; conventional and "instant-on" radar, including the new POP mode radar threat, X-Band, and up to 50% more range than the original Passport 8500 on the all-important K and Ka bands. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) provides maximum range, with minimum false alarms.

The bold part above is bull$hit, except the X50 does have better K band range.

Take a looks at these links:

If you want to buy a Belscort, don't waste your money on the crappy Ka detection of an X50. Get a Bel RX65 instead.

    I love my rx65.

even though i got my only ticket with it on, I cant help it i was talkin on the phone, not breaking hard enough, and speeding with no one in front of me. but I cut 10mph off the ticket, and u learn from ur mistakes.

Other than that bad experience, Its been GREAT!!!!!!!!!! I love it to death! lol!

    Love my X50.

Have to admit - StealthJamal's point about KA is a beeeatch and I always wonder what it must be like to have those stinking arrows.

Otherwise, my X50 has saved my butt on all bands, including instant on K and KA, many, many times.

    Worth every penny!

    Can I vote twice :?:

I am happy with my RX65 and my X50. I am having a hard time deciding on which one to keep!

What are the differences between the 8500 and the X50? Just POP detection?

I think this should be two seperate votes. If people vote for the RX65 it will take away from the X50 making the X50 look worse than it reallt is, and also just the oppsite. I think the results will look skewed. (And this is from a V1 fanatic)

i would like to still have my reg 8500 for Ka comparisons just cuz on my way down to fla i got two Ka warnings that were 2 miles+, and i had about 7 others that were in the 1.5 mile range. i had gottem hit with Ka before with my reg 8500 and it was amazing. the cop was facing away with me (and no he didnt have a rear antenna) and i got a 1 mile warning, from facing away from me!!!
