I haven't bought a new Escort since 1990, when I bought the original Solo. Before that, I had bought the original Escort, and then the Passport. I have owned 8500s, X50s, 9500is, and a 9500ix since, but all have been used.
But this new Redline really intrigued me. I sold my STi Driver, I have long detested it. The display changes at least .5 to 1 second before the alert goes off, and the male voice is hideous. And no Expert Meter!!!
So, ordered a new Redline with the extended warranty. Sent in an old Bel Micro Eye XKR-III, worth absolutely nothing for the $80 credit.
All I can say is, if you can scrape up the money, it is absolutely, hands down, the most sensitive detector I have ever used, and I've owned them all. You know when you get used to the same old false locations? Well, this one moves the alerts further out than you can imagine.
The other night I was about 3/4 to one mile behind a Trooper running 33.8, and every time he lit up people with I/O I got the alert. Even when he was over a hill in front of me 3/4 mile away. I was impressed to say the least.
