    Default Does Redline run hot?

Being in Canada, finding a good place to hide the installation of a RD is a necessity.

I think I may have a good space in the interior of the car to do this for a fully conceal installation, however it will be pretty cramped and (somewhat although not totally) enclosed.

How warm/hot does the Redline run? I may have to rig up some quiet running muffin fans to keep the air circulated around this area.......

The Redline gets pretty hot but according to the Escort rep its able to handle it and won't damage the RD. i guess because its a metal case it holds in the heat more. My RX65 with a plastic case doesn't get nearly as hot. Even through this winter when I took it down off the window it was pretty warm so we'll see in summer!

The vents on the top of the Redline really do work. At first I wondered how any air could circulate through the detector through the vents, then I saw the large speaker opening on the bottom.

Vents? Do you mean those two rectangular fuzzy looking things either side of the release button in the middle?

I'm sure they design these products to absorb a lot of heat resting on the windshield. You should be fine
