Also in combination with a "software one" for a Valentine one, you could write software that combines the alerts of both units. (Maybe even interprets them based on which unit went off)

Interfacing the 9500ci to a car PC...

Oh, that's easy.

The data going to the display is plain old serial data. Use a level converter like a MAX-232 and you can plug it right into the PC's serial port.
