    Default 8500 or X50

After reading tons of posts, I see a trend of people liking the old 8500 more, should I guy stick with it, or is the x50 the way to go?

    Thanks

If you need POP protection or better K detection you might want to consider an X50. If your area has mostly Ka and no POP, then keep the original 8500.

Actually if you want a new Belscort detector, the Bel RX65 would be the way to go in my opinion. With the RX65 you will have excellent performance on all the bands rather than getting a X50 that lacks in Ka. Also the RX65 detects POP better than the X50 if POP is an issue.

The Bell may be best for me. BTW - Does anybody know if POP is used in Canada?

Wouldn't expect it to be. In a place where they are prohibited leave POP on anyway it will never false

Why don't you get the new STI? Aren't detectors illegal in all of Canada?

In most of Canda I beleive there are a few parts they may not be... Some Canadians will have more input I assume on what Provinces they are and aren't illegal in.
(But either way....wether they are illegal in all of Canada or just most of it....I would also want an STI if it preforms during testing)

The Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick allow the use of radar detectors.

The RX65 has better Ka, and POP detection then the X50? I've read in other forums that the RX65 doesnt have as good as Laser detection then the X50.

I was thinking about a V1....but that's too much for a RD. By the sounds of it the RX65 and the X50 have more features and just about as good detection.

My area uses alot of Ka and K. But i'm not on the New york state thurway alot, but if or when I am....I wanna be protected with the best coverage. I heard that they use Laser and Ka.

So which one.... X50 or RX65?

There may be a newer X50 coming out in a few months, info has just been uncovered but to early to tell what exactly Escort is working on. May be worth the wait, then again maybe not.
