    Default Is this a save?

I was driving today going about 80 in a 65 and my x50 found a leo under a overpass to the right of the concrete support post shooting his radar going forward. My friend said this wasn't considered a "save" because I wasn't going fast enough to be pulled over.

    15 over is a save.

There is no way to know. Only the LEO knows what his threshold is at that particular moment.

I've had people passing me (I was at 17 over in a construction zone) get hit with laser and the LEO did nothing. You never know at what point he is going to cite.

Why worry if it's a save or not, you did not get a ticket and that's the important thing.

Yep. And even though that is a pretty good clip in a construction zone, you simply don't know why he didn't go after you ("you" in the generic sense). Might have been on the cellphone with his old lady. Might have been on the cellphone with someone else's old lady. Might have been dispatched to something else at the same time. Might simply have not been paying attention, but just broadcasting radar to slow people down. You never know.

City cop pulled my buddy's wife over for going 57 in a 55 and gave her a warning and a lecture about how "New Mexico doesn't have a 5-10mph leeway like other states" ....absolute bull****.

I guess speedometers are a lot more accurate in NM than other states.

It was laser, so I know he was looking, guess he just wanted a bigger fish.

Ooops, sorry. I was referring to the OP. I confused the details of the two encounters.
