Default factory "speed trap" on 9500ix I've noticed...

9500ix, I believe the factory preset is 1000ft warning for a "speed trap" before hitting its location. There's not many preset of these factory "speed traps" (I have driven across country before with it never going off) but there is a specific location in WI on I43 north of Milwaukee/Mequon where it always warns me when approaching an overpass. And behold I've driven past that location many times with a LEO on the overpass shooting laser down.

But what I've noticed is that its warning is too late. Yesterday when I drove through that location I was hit with laser by a LEO who was at that speed trap location. I have a Blinder M27 installed. My point is I was hit by laser BEFORE my 9500ix's factory preset "speed trap" warning went off. It took 3 seconds after being hit by laser, my blinder and 9500ix both warned me of the laser hit and then the 9500ix's speed trap warning warned me of the speed trap ahead. I guess what I'm trying to say is that maybe the 9500ix's factory's speed trap warning's "speed trap" distance should be further then 1000ft to its trap ??

    Thoughts/ideas/your inputs ??

They are working on a fix and I'm sure we'll see it soon.

Yea, many people have noticed this problem and posted about it over on the Escort Radar Forum. They say theyre working on it, and its not just the speed trap distance that has trouble. Ive noticed red light camera/speed camera warnings are not the 10 second warning they should be (according to the manual and reps).

The funny part about all of this is when the 9500I came out people complained that the warning distance was way to long.

User definable would be key, so we don't keep going back and forth.

Agreed. But thats probably 'too complicated' to implement in a USB update right?

Actually if they can just add a few additional choices it could work.

    Speed trap1 1000ft, speed trap2 1500ft, speed trap3 2000ft.

From what I gathered, the 9500i was 1mile or (5,280 feet). I use to have the 9500I and I dont recall it being 1mile but thats what I gathered.

but the current 9500ix at 1000ft is insanely fast, imagine driving 85mph + on the freeway, that 1000ft comes fast!!! Back to the part about people originally claiming the 9500i 1mile was too long and the 9500ix 1000ft too short, I think a happy medium to me would be 1/2 mile.
