    Default Super Cup Problems

The super cup is nice but it will not seal tight and the RD wiggles or bounces a lot.
The hotter out it gets the worse it is. As I am driving down the road it will wiggle and the display will be facing you. Smooth road or not it is the same.
If it is really cold out it is somewhat still.
I have tried to put it on several times to get a good seal so there is no space between the plastic and the rubber cup with no good results.
Here is a vid of the problem.

Yeah, there is a whole thread on this problem on the Escort forum. The spring is not strong enough to do the job.

Your SuperCup is broken voyager7. The mount shouldn't be able to rotate around the cup like that. Call our service dept to have it replaced.

I never liked the super cup, I received one for free when I bought my 9500ix from escort. I tired it on my windshield and I hated how it looked as it stuck way too far from my windshield and it was big and bulky so I threw the super cup in my 9500ix case and it has been in there since the day I received my ix unit. I prefer the standard regular 2 suction cup mount that comes with the radar detector.

Is the 'super cup' supposed to be a quick release? My point of reference is the V1 bar that is pretty fast.

I have the same issue especially when its hot. I went back to the original mount because of it. The Redline is heavy and bounces on both mounts but its a little less closer to the windshield. Too bad I liked it alot.

EscortRadar said that they made some minor changes to the newer ones. I have my THIRD one on the way. If they did what I think they did it should fix the problem. At least I hope so. I'll try it for the last time and let you know. I really do think that heat has something to do with it because, where I live, +40 degrees is considered a Hard Freeze!!! By the way, CS didn't even question the issue and didn't even ask for the old one back. It was just "the new one is in the mail"

It definitely gets looser with the heat.

I'll keep mine until it really starts going bad or until you can confirm they fixed the problem with the newer ones.
