    Default 9500ix truelock test

hey guys im new here ,anywase hello i just did various test on the 9500ix after realizing that the trueluck feature is not consistent and what i found in some testing that it only works in some situations .i drive on a busy street where we have a grocery store on one side and a bank on the other and they both have automatic door openers. Now after mounting my 9500ix i drove to that area locked out that false alert manually ,drove a ways out past a mile ,i then turned around and shure enough when i passed in that area ,the litle satellite icon was spinning no alert. Two days later i drive back in this area purposely,to look for photo radar vans in this area as we have them and i was trying to find one so i could mark a speedtrap mark.As im approaching the grocery store on one side and the bank on the opposite side of the street the little satellite icon starts to spin blocking the false alert ,i then look on the hill only about 25 to 30 yards away along the curb theres a photo radar jeep sitting there clocking vehicles and no alert icon is spinning , well i was pissed .Photo radar here operate on Kband i know that from years of having detecting them with my 8500 x50 .i turned off the GPS feature on the 9500ix then i drove directly beside him then full alert on Kband.even had my auto learn off to make shure it dint auto lock .so from now on i decide to do further testing,i went out a purchased a bushnell speed camera thats good for 200mph at 1400 feet.i set up my HD vedio camera between the two seats turned it on record , my truck is sitting across my house i walked like 300 to 400 yards away i then shot the speedgun towards my truck to make shure this thing works right did it 2 to 3 times ,when i got back checked the video shure enough i was getting full alert Kband with this thing from 400 yards out.I then drove over to the sheraton hotel near my place that has a automatic door opener i had locked out this area the day before ,i pull in the parking area of the hotel the icon starts to spin while its spinning i shoot my speed gun down at the floor of the truck ,i get a full alert let go of the trigger the spinning icon spins again so its doing its job.I then pull up directly in front of the doors im now getting a full alert ,so i lock it out i turn the truck around drive by a second time go directly to the door no alert the icon is spinning so that tells me that when i get that close to the door there are 2 alerts for one automatic door opener if i back up 20 feet away from the door only one alert. Now this is where it gets interresting ,now that i have the 2 alerts locked out from that one door guess what when i shoot the speed gun now i get no alert from the speedgun even pointing it directly at the radar detector and i walked out of the truck with it shot the truck from accross the street recorded it with video and it never alerted .So i go back close to the door with the truck i unlock one of the alerts shoot the gun now i get an alert with the gun ,so this test tells me that ,WHEN BLOCKING OUT TWO FALSE SIGNALS OR ALERTS IN ONE LOACTION WELL A THIRD THREAT WILL NEVER ALERT YOU . thats what i got from this test the same happened with the photo radar situation

i guess this is the best fix for the truelock system

Very important note: If you are too close to the false you can get a strong alert that can overflow into another 30MHz block (Ghosting), Therefore creating a larger lock out block. So try to lock out with less then 1/2 of a full alert. This will also help keep the lock out area small. im shure most of you guys already know this ,im just a noobe

Paragraphs man try em out sometime.

Check out the sticky at the top of the Escort forum page. 9500i tips and tricks.

Read it and read it again and then read it again and then read it another time.

I had to read it like fifteen times before it all sank in.

Yes that's one good fix, this is also why auto learn works so well for locking out initially. It compares falses each time it passes. Its all in my sticky.

Simply TrueLock is not fool proof, especially when testing. Trust me i know.
