    Default POP false?

Driving through a two lane semi rural portion of my commute yesterday my 9500IX screamed out "POP Alert". I looked and no LEO in sight, no buildings.

Will a weak Ka signal from a long ways away trigger this? I need to disable POP anyhow, just curious on why it would alert POP out of nowhere.

It was probably a cheap detector nearby that caused the POP alert.

Escort should change the "POP" alert to say "COBRA" instead. It would be more accurate.

No, most of the forum members turn off POP to reduce false alerts.

Florida does not allow use of POP. In fact, any units coming from MPH have the POP feature disabled.

Heck, I live in an area where POP is used but I see I/O and Q/T much, much more often than POP (1 confirmed run in). I'm about to turn it off...

I find that reassuring. I have since disabled POP to see if it gives me any faster warnings. I have a feeling it will be a sub 1 second difference.
