Escort seemed to try to discourage me from exchanging 9500ix for Redline.
After joining this forum and learning more about radar detectors strengths and weaknesses I decided to exchange my 9500ix for a Redline considering I live in a town with no traffic lights plus I do a lot of highway driving to Maine and just to get anywhere. When I was on the phone with Escort earlier the salesman said asked that I don't want the GPS features and that the Redline will get a lot of falses as it picks up every signal under the sun.
I just found it odd that Escort was almost trying to talk me out of exchanging one of their products for another.

that is weird that they would do that. Did you get to go through with the return in the end?

Yeah in the end I knew what I wanted to do so I went through with the exchange. I am boxing up my 9500 and sending it back when I get home from work.
It is a great detector and I would still recommend it but just for the driving I do I feel a Redline will be better for me.

I am even happier today as I have two saves over the weekend. The 9500 may have picked up one but the other I bet I would have had a $200 ticket. He was sitting under an awning of a closed business and was over a hill from me. I got a good 1 mile warning and had slowed, popped over that hill and there he was.

.
Considering where your driving w/the low likelihood of falses you should be fine w/the Redline.
