    Default 9500ci Radar Vertically Mounted

I just got a 9500ci professionally installed and I noticed that the installer had installed the radar head vertically. I was wondering if this will effect my radar detection performance at all and if it does how will it?

That installer doesn't have a clue. For your area, the radar antenna needs to be positioned horizontally. Take it back and make them do it right. In fact, post pictures of your entire installation, with your license plates blotted out. The odds are if they didn't get the radar antenna right, the shifters are probably worse. You have a low post count, so you'll have to "attach" the pictures, rather than posting links to them.

I live in the Atlanta area. So you are saying that it does effect the way it works?

    Absolutely!

All mobile radars in the US are circularly or vertically polarized and all radar detectors use vertically polarized horns which work best against these radars. With your receiver mounted vertically it actually puts the horn 90 degrees out of phase (or gives it a horizontal polarity). This will both reduce your off-axis reception and cut down on overall range.

The receiver needs to be mounted horizontally for best performance.

Yes it will kill its performance. Its like trying to drive your car upside down.

Wow, that's horrendous. Not only its mounted sideways it also is blocked by the grill. I'm surprised it detects anything.

The jammer heads are too low as well.

Category4 is in that area. I'm sure he'll help you either find a place or with the install, then he'll shoot you with his LIDAR guns.

X2 Your installer did a horrible job. I suggest you move to the blue location:
