    Default Mounting 8500

Im wondering if like the rear head rests get in the way of the 360 view and i have to mount the rd higher so it sees over the headrest or does it matter if i mount it low and the rear headrest is in the way.

For radar no. For laser well try to have a clear view from that little black dot. But seriously I doubt the rear laser will ever save you.

Especially from the back like that... You'd need scatter to somehow bounce its way through the rear window past the interior obstructions and go into that little eye...

tru so is it better to mount high or low anyway and does it matter if the review mirror gets in the way for 360 to

From all of my experiences and testing and also from other members i'd mount just below the rear view mirror. This does many different things for you. This allows for a good stealth install, a great position to pick up threats, and also offers you a less visible line of sight from leo's if you happen to get pulled over. One other thing that it can save you from with an install from above the rear view mirror is from a bogus ticket from an leo like obstruction of view (don't know what the actual term or phrase is for it) since you won't have anything hanging from your mirror or below it like a power cord. I just had a buddy get an extra ticket, which i doubt will hold up, for having his rd cord hanging and obstructing his view. Just a few things to keep in mind and good luck with the detector.

The RVM can stop 360degree laser detection yes....

Honestly if you dont have a jammer...or at least veil&Lasershield you are screwed with a hit from behind with laser... its pretty much that simple...there is just to much for the LEO to work with.

well i guess it depens try high and mid winsheld mount to see which one works best for u.one more thing i have mine mountted very high above the rear view mirror super for picking up long range radar from the front
but i found out that my rear detection on the x50 is not so great when i have my rd mounted high like mine i drive a van and i have mine below the tint but when i mount it lower the rear detection goes way up on my x50 so i guess sometimes lower can be better to.

I was just testing my 360 detection today, and it obviously isnt 360 its pretty much 180 but besides that i went to a known k falsing spot becuz there is a gas station satalite by it and wen i point the front of the rd towards it, it beeps full aleart, when i do the bak little view it doesnt detect it or it either does the lowest possible alert.

The only RD that has full 360 detection on all bands is the V1. The others are really only 360 for laser. The top of the line detectors can however pick up signals from behind you when they bounce off other vehicles infront of you. You just need to get to know your detector.
