Default 9500ix Detector Tools v1.7 Issue?

I just used the new 9500ix Detector Tools v1.7 to update both my Locations and Software. It went very smoothly, but my TrueLocks were deleted.

    Anyone have a similar experience?

Could upgrading the software/firmware cause this? I've updated Locations many times before (but not software/firmware) and this has never happened.

The new version would not install on my computer.
This is the message it gave me.
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2755.
I am running XP Pro. What's wrong?

Weird. I have installed it on XP Home and Windows 7 32 bit without any issues.

I'd try to download again, then run the setup for installation.
I'm running XP. I uninstalled the previous version before running the setup for the latest version.

Try un-installing any prior DT versions first.

Then delete any temporary internet files and re-download DT v1.7 to the desktop.

Install it from your desktop after quitting any other open applications AND suspending any realtime antivirus protection.

See if that works. If not something else is going on.

EDIT: Also be sure that you have all the Microsoft Updates for BOTH Windows AND Microsoft,NET Framework, as they are required to run (and possibly install ) the program

Yes the older version must be uninstalled first.

All i can say is wow, to this new detector tools. Much more intuitive and less work. All you do is open up detector tools and it automatically determines your last update and adds whats needed without having to download the database separately.

    Very nice Escort!

I tried it again last night before I went to bed and it went just fine.

Yes, i uninstalled the old version. It went flawlessly, and tested against old lock outs and had 3 encounters. One was a wicked K band alert over a hill and around a bend. This thing just eats K band.
