Hi I would like to thank Escort for a great detector,

My question is what is the main differences between Auto and highway modes regarding sensitivity? city is of no interest to me as we dont have police enforcement on x band in the uk.

I basically need to configure my bands to be able to recieve max sensitivity to K band,

I have a vertical mount as we have thousands of fixed Gatso photo radar units low powered K band polorised.

here are my detectors frequencies

For max sensitivity leave it in highway mode. Also turn off SWS, POP, and Ku if Ku isn't used there.

Once you find out what Ka frequencies are in use in your area then you can fine tune Ka by enabling only the segments that Ka is used on (ie Ka Narrow N1-N4)

If polarized radar is used in your area, such as in mobile photo radar vans, then try mounting your detector vertically, on it's side. You will know if it is polarized or not because you will not get very long detection range of it.

Basically only K band is used by police and laser do you recomend turning off all bands apart from K,K-pulse, and laser?

Ka not used nor ku.

If you are positive that only K band is a threat then you can disable all other bands. Doing so will enhance the responsiveness of the detector because it isn't scanning all of the other bands.
