Escort power cord

I have a 8500 and i was wondering if the power cord is just a regular phone line cord like the V1. And if so is there an adapter like the V1 where i could plug the phone line in the cigarette lighter? Like from radio shack or something?

Its a regular phone cord. Are you hardwiring? Many examples of hardwires here.

I wasn't going to hardwire but i guess i could look into it.
