Forgive me if this has been covered, but I tried searching and couldn't find jack. I'm thinking the search index still hasn't been updated with the forum upgrade because even common words aren't showing...
Ohio still uses X in the sticks, so I've heard, but I've never seen it in my area. (All of the locals are running LIDAR or Ka, with a smattering of QT K.)
Does disabling X band help the detector scan K and Ka more rapidly?
If the answer to the above is "yes," is there a functional difference between Settings -> Bands -> X off, vs running "City NoX" or "Auto NoX" (9500-series)? I believe that even in the "NoX" modes the detector is still scanning the X frequencies but is just silencing them and not displaying, but I only have anecdotal evidence to back this. I have an X-band false near my office that is locked out via GPS, but even in ANX mode I still get the "spinning satellite" when I pass that area, indicating to me that the detector is seeing the X signal and locking it out... even though it is in "NoX" mode.
I happen to have a 9500ci, but I'm assuming that all of this should be the same across the i/ix and the x50 and Redline as well?
