Thread: Ebay Detector's

    Default Ebay Detector's

I'm a newbie and from reading some of the posts there seems to be a general dislike/warning about buying from Ebay. Can you tell me of any Good Ebay sellers or is everything there refubs? They all say "New" in the adds and seem to sell a lot of them without negitive feedback. Just asking before I spend an exrta $100 bucks on one from a store.

    thanks
    Tom

The prices these dealers, who have great feedback, sell at is below wholesale price. They are all refurbished units, even though to the consumer they appear new. The average Joe would not know the difference, especially if they are sealed and appear as new.

Several members on here have received "new" EBay units, but the internal hardware or software/firmware is not the latest. The units seem to work well, but if anything goes wrong with them - you have to pay $85 plus shipping to have it fixed by Bel or Escort.

My RD came from eBay and the first one sucked. The sick feeling I got thinking of all the money wasted on those clowns. Note that none of the sellers on eBay give refunds. They will replace it, but no refunds period! So if they have a bad batch all you get is a different defected RD.
I wrote a letter to the seller telling him how poorly the RD performing in detail and if this is a refurbished and or used RD that I was going to take action with ebay because they all advertise that they are new (I didnít think they were). Two weeks later the second one came in and it turned out to be a great detector (I was very fortunate).
I think I scared the seller because of the return E-mails I received from him. Think about it, one very bad review costs hundreds of sells. So he bit the bullet and sent a new ( I think) one to someone who knew what to expect and sold the remaining to the uninformed. I credit men like kpatz, ES13Raven, crazyVOLVOrob, jimbonzzz for info on what to expect; thank you all.
I would never; I mean never buy a RD off of eBay!!!!!! Buy from Radar Roy!

Belscort does not stand behind their products. CMI and Escort stood behind theirs, although this was based on their direct sales model.

Standing behind dealers is a poor excuse for incompetent or deliberately poor inventory control. The grey market products exist because distributors or Belscort resell their return inventory or permit dumpster-scuba.

Intel doesn't do this. AMD doesn't. Philips doesn't......

Conversely, the sloppy inventory control allows for sales in Canada.

I have never bought anything from ebay and wouldn't. I know there are many people happy with ebay and several who have been taken. The bad thing about ebay in my opinion is no warrenty.

You should most definately buy from Roy just in case something goes wrong. A few people have had calibration errors with their X50's and RX65's and Roy will stand behind his products 100%. He will take care of you before, during, and after the sale and is one of the ONLY sellers that does this and does it VERY WELL

I have never purchased from Radar Roy but I would have no hesitation whatsoever to do so. I have seen nothing but praise about him from reading the posts here. Besides he is a Z 8) nie just like I am.
