Little odd and frustrating
Any one order a new database subscription yet? I was surprised at Escorts process.
I went on line initially but decided to call. It's $19.99 for one year, ok, hopefully will release a shifter-less remote soon so can lose the 9500ix. But, then $4.50 for shipping? Can't there be an option to activate online, send just via email or when unit plugged in? $4.50 to mail you an activation code and email it! How much are stamps for a one page letter? Oh, then can take one to two business days to get the email with the code! Once you get the code then you supposedly have to go to some log in page to activate it? Um, WTH? I'm no hi tech wiz but there has to be a more efficient way.
Not trying to be cheap about the $4.50,(I own a 9500ci, V1, 9500ix, LI Quad, LI dual) this is more about the laborious process and Escorts slap in the face. After protesting the $4.50 it was waived but then the clerk just hung up. I had to call back and ask about when I would get the email and how to activate it.
My 2 cents.
My set-up: keeps changing with time.

Ok. Received email with code, activated, then waited for 3 hrs so it could be updated on their end. Then finally updated my database.
Has to be a more efficient way.

Haha. Yeah. Just needed to vent. Just wish they would cut back on the marketing and gimmicky stuff and focus a bit on the things we need.

I agree, they need to take a few years to refine what they have and focus on what we need/want.
