hold down the top two buttons, itll say program, wait a sec, then its the first feature, just push the right top button to change it. youll see it display all kinds of stuff. example "H .>" you can have a scanning plus sign too "+ >"

Yeah I use this feature for night time driving, it is very inconspicuous (with the correct dim[brightness] setting)...not to mention cool to glance up at.

Anycase if you have your manual look at pages 12 & 13 of it to show you everything you need...other then that A-TownNavi did a great job explaining what it takes to get you the all-coveted scanning dot!

It shouldn't be hard the X50 controls you will find are very user-friendly... regardless if you need more help just post-back... and we will try to help you.

    Enjoy the dot

On the next version, they should not put the thing about being software upgradeable or dsp chip etc on the box. They should simply say
    "Now with a scanning dot!"

Heck they could have nothing but the title of this thread on it...

    "THE SCANNING DOT"

And instead of the picture on the center of the Box showing "Highway" across the display they could take a snapshot of "THE DOT" in action.

Many thanks. I have had my X50 for almost 2 years and it has been a good RD. It has saved me many of times, but it does not do a very good job in the vette, so I just ordered a V1 to see it would work a little better in a very low riding vehicle.

the x50 or the V1 should still be about the same in your vette. the only things that would be a little diff are Laser and rear protection. did you get your x50 off ebay?

Maybe I should create and sell a little box that does nothing but have a scanning dot on it. I wonder how well it would sell.

I see people with these stupid things on their rearview mirrors with a blue scanning dot at night, parked car with the dot moving around...
