    Default My New Redline Review

I bought a Redline a few months back and just finally had the real chance to test it's roadworthiness (is this really a word?). I'm a previous V1 owner (had 2 of them, just sold last 1 to a guy in CA for $325 w/CD). I would live and swear by it. BUT living in VA we have Spectres.....so I had to.......well you know. I wanted to compare the 2 but sold it.
This thing kicks some serious butt. Ran I-95 up and down from central VA to Miami, FL and back. My first of many encounters was just a few miles from home on a nice downhill uphill straight, picked up Ka sitting CO at least 1.25+ miles away. Sorry, no frequency. Campbell County VA deputy, sitting in Phillips Wayside (Spring Hill) for the locals. NC was full of radar, more like every everywhere, CO and IO. Nice range. I'm really impressed. Right there with the V1 if not better in some circumstances.
One encounter I really liked was northbound on 95, 20 miles into GA at some bridge, saw two cars kinda side by side on the shoulder, was dark so I got "decal reflections", then BAM! He lasered me. Since I was the rabbit I was doing the PSL +5. He pulled down on me twice. ?? After about 50 miles into GA, all got quiet. NC was all over. SC was a little heavy on the return trip near southern part of state line. Going down, forgot which state (either SC or GA) but there were 2 LEOs pulled into a sandy crossover talking having coffee and donuts (box on hood), I guess discussing their plans for the day. Picked up some scatter from up-ahead IOs which gave ample time to get politically correct for the next reading.
Overall I'm very pleased with the Redline and it's range. It is a top notch detector and will give a V1 a run for it's money, sometimes winning a round or 2. I do miss the arrows but being stealthy is worth it.

I noticed a lot of Cobras on the dashes but saw no V1s. Everything I saw was mostly level and pointed straight ahead. The most type of vehicles I saw pulled over lit up were minivans that had previously passed me with empty dash boards.

Nice review. I'd ONLY get it if I lived in areas where it's illegal to have an RD

Great review and glad you like your RedLine!

One thing I'm curious about........all those Cobras........how well did your RedLine do at screening them out? I get a Ka false once in a blue moon.

To the best of my knowledge...the ones I actually could see...no falses from the Cobras.

In my experience, and I drive GA, SC and NC all the time, you can do 9 over on interstates and highways (outside city limits) and they will not pull you over.

Now of course someone will probably come in with a legitamate tale of getting pulled over for PSL+1, but that is just my experience from 27 years of driving these roads.

I did 5 because I was out of state = easy money. I had no where to be at a certain time so I just took my time. Usually in my home state, I will go +10 on interstate w/o a rabbit. Since I was an outta state rabbit...........
