Default 9500ix save for me, not so lucky for my buddy.

So it all started out we were just cruising with my buddy he has a 05 STI modded heavily and gutted out and i have a 07 si.
We were at a light and i decided it would be funny to race so i went thru 1-3rd gear mind you the speed limit is 60 on that highway i got up to about 75-80 and he passed me as soon as i went to 2nd gear about 40-45 mph and he kept going after we pass a bridge (sti dont have a RD)
I recieve ka band 1 bar then FULL bars then i see a NC state trooper in a charger crossing the grass median i did slow down when i got 1 bar back to around 65-67 i think. the cop pulled the U and immedietly chased after my buddy in the STI, pulled him over and everything. I didnt get pulled over tho. Later when we met up the cop wrote him for 110/60. he lucky he didnt get his car towed or went to jail but he prolly will lose his license. Only one ? tho the 9500ix didnt alert me fast enough that i had to slam on my brakes to get my speed down. i know we are dumb for racing but i was thinking that the cop may have been using I/O ka band but im glad i didnt get a ticket or jail. and that is my friday night story

Nothing like a good street race on a Friday night.

Sorry it had to end in a citation for your buddy.

Street racing is dumb and dangerous. HIDs or not.

The 9500ix has tunnel vision, and sucks against off axis radar. If you don't get owned by C/O you will surely get owned by Q/T or I/O. Aside from that the 9500ix is a good detector. NCSHP is pretty sneaky when it comes to tactics, they get bored quick.

If you want to street race go on the Virginia highways and see if you can outrun AsRacer. He'll give you a run for your money.

Doesn't matter if you have HIDs or not. It doesn't make that safe when you are running 110; you won't be able to see anything in enough time to react. Whether you think you can or not.

I have HID low and fogs and would never think of doing something like that. Leave it for the track or auto-x to get your speed crave.

I would say it was good selective I/O, luckily you had the 9500ix to give you some warning.

Wrong, have you ever owned a 9500ix? I have (many of them ) and though it didn't have the off axis sensitivity of my RedLine it had countless real saves with I/O, C/O, and off axis.
