    Default TrueLock vs TSR?

I've got a 9500ci, and TSR is starting to show up here in Ohio.

My daily route will eventually have the sensors, but for now it doesn't, so I have been leaving TSR turned off. However, when I take other routes, I run into the stupid things and nearly crap my pants.

What I've found is that if I have TSR off and drive past the sensors enough times, TrueLock seems to shut out the signal, but I don't know if this is reliable. Since the sensors seem to "pulse" at some interval, if I drive past an area when it's not pulsing I can imagine that the TrueLock may unlock after a while.

Most of the LEOs around here seem to be shooting Lidar or Ka anyway, but I know that K band is still out there sometimes. I'm assuming TSR is cutting down the sensitivity or delaying the alert for all K band when it is enabled, correct? Hence, leaving TSR turned on would make us more vulnerable to QT K?

I'm trying to wrap my head around what the "least worst" option here is. Am I better off using TSR, or should I allow TrueLock to learn where the sensors are?

Currently I've been leaving TSR off, but once I hit an area where the sensors are hot, I usually get into the menus and re-enable it on the fly (the voice announcements are very helpful for this, as well as having my display mounted in the top of my gauge hood where it's easy to glance at without losing the road for long). What would be really nice is if we could get an additional "sensitivity" setting for Auto+TSR, and maybe Auto+TSR+NoX, so it would be easier to toggle between TSR on/off. (Alternatively, another multi-button "hotkey" for toggle TSR would be good, like maybe the upper two sides, similar to the bottom two for programming mode.)

I am in the exact same boat as you in Milwaukee running the 9500ix. TSR mode has made my 9500ix mute which is nice as long as this doesn't lead to me getting popped by some k band rogue which I hear the next county over (Waukesha) still uses sometimes as well as Ka. Mostly LIDAR on the Interstates in Milwaukee and Racine County which the M47 takes care of. I started with using the GPS Lock Out, but, like you said, they aren't on all the time and I have noticed the Lock Out unLock Out. Been running TSR for about 2 weeks and was thinking about turning off and seeing what the results are.

Let the TSR do it's job, that's is what it was made to do. The TSR will not cut your sensitivity down. Let the truelock lock out the other false and not having to do the TSR job. When I was using my ix it was locking out those false because the bands vary so your gps will know at what location the band and lock that out with your gps.

Until we see verified testing proving this, I don't believe it. Nothing against you, I'm just paranoid.

If you trust Happya$$ (and I do), here's a thread he started on the Escort forum about this:

    http://escortradarforum.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=2323

Here's his first post about it:

Well guys it has been a few days since I have switched over from my beloved V1 3.813 to my Redline (traffic monitoring K band falsing reasons) and I can tell you that my K band coverage has not suffered in the least bit. I have had 5 k band encounters, 2 IO and 3 CO, and with every encounter and TSR on, I have had PLENTY of time to slow down. I no longer ignore my RD (traffic monitoring systems rendered my beloved 3.813 V1 USELESS since it falsed like I was encountering IO K band every 20 seconds). It got to the point where I almost retired from using an RD because of these traffic monitoring systems. Great job Belscort engineering team!

I was trying to edit my first post so the second was just a add on to the first.

TSR looks for a certain K band pulse, traffic sensors pulse slowly and there frequency is constantly changing. Therefore TSR can tell the deference between a real threat and a traffic sensor, only reducing miner reactivity. Virtually impossible to tell the difference in sensitivity between TSR on/off.
