    Default purchased my 9500ci today

i have been lurking here a bit for the past few weeks, and finally decided to get the 9500ci. i have a passport 8500 x50 in fact i have 2 and an old 8500 in each of my cars.
i got it on ebay for 1038.99 and 39.99 shipping. local seller also.
they claim to offer a 3 year warranty with it but i am not holding my breath!

anyway will be installing it on my 2008 corvette Z06

The 9500ci is good, but given its cost should be much better. Given what I have read here and my personal experience with the Bel STI-r, I wouldn't consider the 9500ci. The 9500ci laser shifters are next to useless, and there are issues with radar detection reaction time. Overall sensitivity is great. Read up more by searching. The STi-r offers band segmentation so its much faster at detection (can be critical for short weak bursts)

I'd get an STi-r (discontinued) or try to find the new STI-r plus. Don't mean to burst your bubble...I really wanted the 9500ci too, but found the STi-r to better meet my mission...detecting radar all the time and every time.

Also suggest running a V1 in the cabin along with the remote mount...best of both worlds.

Great choice. the 9500ci has the best range out of all RD's i have tested/owned. The GPS features are priceless and though the ZR4's aren't the best for $1038.99 you cant beat that price for all you get.

One other big plus to the 9500ci is it actually pairs very well with the V1.

i knew i would get a post like this, however i really dont speed that much, i have seen 3 laser guns in use in colorado since i have been driving (im 40 now) and i drive a black c6 corvette (hard to get lidar lock on) if the jammers do anything at all it will be from a far distance as i have only seen them on highways and i mostly got the 9500ci cause i like escort, i wanted a blue display and i wanted to keep it hidden. no sence in leaving a 400.00 unit hanging from the W/S in plain view especially in a vette.

i may upgrade the lidar jammers at some point if that becomes an issue. and personally i am not impressed with the V1. from what i have seen the escort does just as good of a job and since the V1 doesnt jam lidar i dont see the point. the whole idea of a gps enabld unit is to keep the damn thing quiet unless its somthing i need to concern myself with! the last thing i need are 2 fricking units beeping at me all the time..
if i was going to spend more money on this project i would spend it on the laser jammers which bring something of value to me should i decide i need it versus another detector that just alerts like my escort already does.

i think some of you die hard RD people make a habit of speeding everywhere you go. it's not often i am in that much of a hurry and 10 over the limit is my max comfort zone. if i get any detection advance warning or even an instant of lidar jamming it will give me the time i need to slow down 10 mph

but thanks for your feedback. ive talked to several people including radar roy and he as well as a few others after seening my particular needs felt this was a good unit for my needs.

i actually am hopeful that Laser Interceptor will make an integration unit to the escort. so it will trigger and display the type of gun on the screen, i think thoes 2 companies need to merge and then the system will be by far the best setup on the market

i also agree if the shifters were worth a damn i would be happy to pay full price, however i figure with the money i saved i can upgrade and have the best of both worlds. i just dont know if the 9500 will throw error messages if i were to remove the laser part of the system and replace with somthing that actually works i really dont want to give up the real estate for install 2 systems.

X2, but Escort has the capability's to make a better jammer, if they decide to do it.

The question is when, and if we can just swap it in replacing the ZR4's in our 9500ci's.

I also agree 100 percent with your comments and reasoning investing in the 9500ci only for now.
