Default Redline owners - How is your QT, IO performance?

So, I'm in the process of deciding which radar detector to purchase, and I'm leaning towards the Escort Redline, but I have a couple concerns. I'm told that IO and/or QT are common in some of the areas I drive, and I'm wondering how the Redline performs for you in these areas. Do you get detections off of bounced/scattered IO or QT shots on cars ahead of you? I'm rarely, if ever, the rabbit in areas I know to be frequented by OSP, so there will most likely be someone in front of me getting hit before I would get hit.

Also, please don't suggest the V1, yes I'm aware it has the best IO performance. There's just too many ODOT sensors in my area for me to really consider it. It's ability to detect a signal at <0.2 seconds doesn't do anything for me if I have to have it muted for the first 5-7 seconds of a warning.

Mine Redline is awesome and like you said if you keep a rabbit and do use your eyes you will be safe. I just a cross country road trip a few months ago and I was picking up I/O for miles away but like you know any radar detector will fail you if you don't have a rabbit and get hit when leo is hiding. I am very happy with my Redline and it's a beast when it come to detecting radar. I'm sure that you will get the V1 guys to say that the V1 is better but all radar detector have it plus and minus. If you use your eyes and rabbit the redline will do good with I/O and Q/T.

"Radar Detection Reaction Test Time-Escort" website where fellow members tested the Redline. Fellow members may can post the website where you can click on it or do a search here where you can get to it to read your answer. Happy motoring...

I have yet to see QT in Ohio. Here is a link to CJR's video of being hit with QT, then I/O with both Redline and V1 in the car.

Against conventional Instant On the RedLine is a superb performer! No doubt in my mind, I regularly pick up the LEOs in my area (who have a preference for the Stalker Dual) way before getting into their kill zone.

The RedLine will also catch quick triggers down around .3 seconds which is about as fast as most two piece radars can produce a speed. It's just not nearly as consistent as the V1 down around .5 seconds which is probably more the norm in areas where LEOs use this tactic.

Actually, I was going to suggest a 9500ix for that situation. It would seem to make a lot more sense than a Redline, which is no more useful than the V1 against drones, has fewer features, and costs a hundred bucks more.

The 9500ix is the other radar detector I'm considering. Doesn't the redline have TSR? If not I guess then I will probably go with the 9500ix.

I love mine in KY, IL, IA, KS, MO, OH, and AR. It works well in all of those, no tickets since owning it.

The RedLine DOES have TSR. and let me tell you, it works GREAT without compromising k-band too horribly....

I am assuming the redline would be the best escort product for Q/T, since you can not use the V1. It's a shame really since you have to deal with Q/T.
