I've been a longtime fan of the V1. However, I'm buying a RD for my wife, who got nabbed for the 3-4th time over the last few years.
I don't think the V1 is good for her, as she'll have no clue how to use the arrows. Hopefully, the learning ability of the 9500ix will prevent her from over-reacting to every false alert. However, one concern I have about the learning feature - there is construction almost continuously around us on the interstates, and they use the warning signs with the radar signals that always set off my V1. I worry that the 9500ix will learn these signals, then the signs will be removed, as they are temporary. Doesn't this leave the potential for a trooper to sit in the same position and have the RD think it's a false signal? Is there a way to have the unit disregard the false signal in this case?
Also, is the direct power cord compatible with the V1? My search of this site found that, I think, a telephone cord is the same thing. However, the smart direct cord for the 9500 can't be used. Is this right?
