Passport 9500ix Odd Alert.

Im sorry I had to start a new thread on this, but I have to ask, What is going on with my 9500ix when I'm driving with GPS On or Off and theres a single beep (like the kind of alert X-band would use). I have X-Band turned off, and when it happens (if my GPS is on) GPS will turn off.

This only happens when I have the voice off. My only suspicion is this is the alert for "GPS Signal Lost" w/o using voice. Any ideas?

Once mine did that and I looked up and it was just powering up. The D/C plug wasn't in all the way, so it was turning on and off. Is yours plugged in correctly?

If it is, then it's probably the GPS thing.

Yeah I have it hardwired and plenty of slack in the wire coming down from the headliner so its not pulling on the detector.

I thought it was power supply too but I guess its the GPS. It hasnt happened at all after i turned voice alert back on. I've gotten the occasional "searching for gps signal" alert but thats it. I'm thinking the beep is that equivalent.

Would you mind posting this on Escorts forum as well? I thought it would still announce GPS signal lost/aquired.

I believe my 9500ix has done this a couple times as well. I'm pretty sure it does the single beep when you lose GPS tracking, because mine does that whenever I drive into my parking garage at school.
