This is my first post, i've been a lurker for some time!
I live in Cinco Ranch and most of my driving is around Katy, Houston and up to Bush airport, with only occasional out of city driving on country roads and freeways.
I have an 8500 (pre X50) that I've owned since around 2002, it's given excellence service and has saved me many times. But it's been getting progressively more noisy with false alterts from the BW toll booths (only occasionally), other detectors and ??? Note I run this in "no X" mode.
I've been looking at the 9500ix and like the idea of Auto learn and virtual elimination of false alerts, I'm obviously not bothered about the RLC database feature in Houston.
Now to my question, is the 9500ix the best choice for the type of driving I do and is the 9500ix detection in K and Ka appreciably better that my existing old 8500?
