Lightbulb visor mounting GPS radar detectors

I am looking at possibily purchasing the 9500ix or the GX65 with the GPS function. Is there a problem using a visor mount? Does it interfere with the signal?

With window mount it probably isn't a problem, but with the visor I am wondering if is one? Or if it results in an intermittent signal?

It may be a moot point if you have a convertible with a fabric roof but would like to hear from someone who has one of these detectors and tried the two mounting points.

    thanks in advance,

Visor works fine. GPS lock may be a little slow. Once locked it will be fine.

Also consider mounting it on headliner with Visor Clip. It gets GPS lock quite fast and has a nice clear view.

Tint might slightly reduce lasar sensitivity but it has no effect on Radar. Mounting high is actually good for Radar.

Make sure you use a Level on it.

Thank you that may be a deciding factor in purchasing one of these models.
