Question "Upgraded" fromt Bel Sti-Driver to Escort Redline but ???

I had the Beltronics Sti-Driver for a little less then a year and it saved me a few times. Overall, I really liked the unit but decided to change for two reasons :

1 - Got clocked by laser and no alert at all ( even if it would have been to late )
2 - There was a good package deal to purchase LI Dual w Escort Redline

So I am selling the Sti to my friend, but stil have both as of right now. I went for a ride with the Redline this afternoon in the area where I live, and where I know the surroundings and the store near which the Sti used to alert me ( even if they were false alarms --> mostly X band, sometimes K

There are two if not three places where my Sti alerted me all the time, but the Redline didn't. I don't mean to complain, because if the Redline avoids false alerts then great, but I find it pretty strange since it's suppose to be as sensitive IF NOT MORE then the sti-driver from what I read....

As I said earlier, Redline was fresh out the box and mounted properly... It worked with a K band near a school zone that only tells you your speed for prevention purposes...

And while I'm at it, any ideas on how to mount the redline for it to be as invisible as possible ? Wanted to hardwire it but doesn't fit on top of the rear view mirror like I saw a lot on bmw forums ... ( I have a 335i coupe and the rv mirror is pretty big ) ...

    Thank you in advance.

Well give it time because it's too early to tell but I would hardwire up high above or to the left of your rvm make sure that setting is the same.

I saw the package deals and looks like a great pair. The Bel Sti-Driver is still an extremely good unit. At the time I was looking for a new detector, the Sti-Driver was near the top of my list, and the timing was such that Escort was just releasing the Redline.

I'm thinking of the package with LI and Sti-R Plus later this spring.

Are both RD's configured exactly the same in the settings menu?

My STi is equal in performance to my redline. Both are excellent performers.
