    Default New 9500ix owner here

About me- 3 or 4 tickets last few years, I had a Vector 940 that I gave up on because of all those false. Now I am back to a RD after a ticket about 2 weeks ago. So this time around no cheaping out and got one of the best. LOVE this thing after a quick spin last night, purposely drive past a false 3 times and it did the job as advertised. I am a rookie at this RD stuff so I will just leave it in auto and not mess with a single thing. I only really got this for the autolearn part and for it to be quiet as I drive by the Walgreens, Banks, a garage doors.

Excellent choice, the 9500ix is one of the best window mount RD's available. The quieting of falses in low risk and annoying areas is a god send. I had the best personal reaction times with my 9500ix.

I prefer running in highway mode all the time, and use the lock out feature. This way i wont forget to turn Auto mode off when on the highway.

If you don't like false alerts, the 9500ix is perfect for you.

After you drive through your commute several times (at least 3) I recommend disabling the auto learn feature in detector tools to prevent the extremely rare case of locking out a cookie cop.

You can lock out falses by muting it 3 times during an alert. Use highway mode for best sensitivity.

Nice computer mouse BTW. I had one of those, it was great. Very ergonomic.

Nice choice for a detector. Sharp looking picture too, next to your mouse. If you left it sitting there, would you have grabbed the 9500ix and started clicking it when using the computer?

Congrats on the new toy!! The IX is by far the best all-around unit that money can buy. But if I were you, I would keep it in Highway mode at all times for maximum sensitivity. Once auto-learn & true-lock start to learn where your falses are, there should be no need for the Auto mode. I never once took my IX out of Highway mode and it was as quiet as a mouse, even while running around town. Enjoy those first few days of driving with the IX! It was always fun to watch as the IX stored the signals around town!

I love my 9500 so much I take it out of the car everytime, its a pretty big investment. I will now leave it in hwy mode. All these other features seem kind of complicated right now.

Are there any ix owners in Seattle area? I was in Burien today, on 1st ave there are 3 red light photos cameras in a row and my ix did not alert me to any of them. This is the area where the Honda dealership are. So far the IX has missed a bunch of red light cameras overall.
