Default Redline - TSR off by default, why?

It's been a while since I've visited these forums and searching 'Redline TSR' didn't give me much help so I'll ask everyone here.

Why is the TSR setting OFF by default? Is it like POP where it reduces performance?

Here in NC I know we got a bunch of falses from traffic control devices (I-40 is a big one), so I'll keep it on. Just wondering if it had potential negative effects that I should know about.

Got my brother the redline for his graduation and now I'm thinking of replacing the V1 with it. Just wondering about this whole TSR thing which would be nice since I hate the random falses I get on X and K with interstate underpasses on I-485.

TSR filters out short bursts of K band radar, to deal with the traffic monitoring drones that plague certain parts of the country and are used to run systems like Sigalert.com. If this isn't a problem for you, then there is no reason to have TSR enabled.

TSR delays K-band signal over 2 seconds according to the Veil Guy. Check out his Pro 3600 review videos showing a speed sensor and how the Redline filters and the V1 is like a metronome used for comparison. The V1 has K-band muting which was not enabled for the videos. I drive 70 miles daily speed sensors every .9-1.0 of a mile and it works well.

It works great for suppressing radar drones on the highway, but as soon as I get off the interstate I turn TSR off. It hinders performance and there is some K band IO here.

Thanks for the responses guys. So TSR works by waiting 2 seconds before alerting to K, in order to see if the signal still is there and was not just a short pulse by traffic signals? I can see where that would be okay as long as IO and Q/T wasn't a problem.

I'll just leave it off and let myself do the filtering. Expert meter makes it easy enough.

It's not two seconds, it's like 1 second. Still, it could cause Q/T problems, which Escorts already suck against, so don't use it if you don't need it and I/O K band is used in your area.

Good luck when your detector goes full blast K band once a minute, you'll turn TSR on soon enough!

Up to 2s delay with TSR.

Go to 12:10 of the video

The weird thing about that clip is that the V1 alerts from 13:29.6 to 13:33.8 while the Redline remains silent. I was under the impression that the V1 will drop a signal almost immediately after it disappears. If that is the case, then the Redline didn't alert to a signal that was there for 4 seconds.
