    Default A sad day

I was driving around town the other day and noticed a guy in an SUV with an escort 8500 (not sure if it was an x50) mounted down low, aimed off center, and pointing towards the sky. My heart hurt when I saw it. If you take the time to buy a good detector like the 8500, why oh why would you treat it like it was a Cobra!! I wanted to follow him just to tell him he needs to fix that thing ASAP.

Stupid is as stupid does I guess. Maybe he just hasn't been educated like we have. Some people believe they are little magic boxes that go beep when ever a LEO is around.
Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."

I have had mine come loose and hang by 1 suction cup, and either one of two things happen.. 1) tell the wife to hold the wheel while I fix it or 2) pull off to the side of the road and fix it. I'll be da*ed if I get caught with my detector pointed to the sky, and worse yet let someone else see that mine is pointed to the sky

This guy certainly had no idea what he was doing. The suction cups were on there, and it was pointed to the sky because he had the detector all the way out on the escort mount. Had he just pushed in the little tab to slide the detector further toward the windshield, it wouldn't have done that. Even someone who only read the directions could have figured that out!

If you see his car parked, write him a friendly note.

This is nothing new though. I see terrible mounting jobs all the time.
