Default Just bought a Redline today....

    Hey guys,

I am a new member here, and I just ordered the new Redline today from Escort...
I am so disappointed that the customer service of Escort is really bad....
But anyway, I have to get mine tho...

I don't know too much about radar detector, but I just know something basic...
I am still thinking if I purchased a right detector for myself...Please gimme some advise..

I usually drive in a small town every day. Maybe only once a month, I drive a 2hours highway route on I-5 to Portland.
I saw some members say, when choosing the right detector, need to figure it out what brand the police in my town use. But how can I find that out?

My budget is $500...thought about to get the V1, 9500ix and the Redline. Eventually, I ordered the Redline. I want to hear your advices, and return it within 30 if Redline is not the best one for me.
    Thanks a lot!!!!

I really did research before my purchase...
I know the 9500ix has the GPS, but Redline has the longer range.
But I saw some videos on youtube, Redline is much more sensitive than 9500ix...When the Redline beeps, the 9500ix was still sleeping...

You'll definitely enjoy the redline, as it's got great range, especially off axis.

Recently, I noticed that it has a break in period, and it's performance increases with time. After about a month, I noticed better K band range.

It's pretty close to the 9500ix in my favorites out of the big 3. Maybe even better.

You think the Redline is better than 9500ix?
But I read some posts here, the Redline is not sensitive as the V1 because of the filtering even it has a lone range...

I used live chat on their website, and mostly the response from them was all copy and paste which I can find on their website, and "Yes. Yes. Yes........"
Okay, then I call them directly... Want to ask about the 30 days return policy because I wanted to test out 9500ix or Redline is better for me...Then the representative just kept asking me If I want to provide my credit card information to finish the purchase. Then I just said "I would prefer finish my purchasing thru the website, but.....". I even did not finish all my questions, then the representative just said, "OK, no problem." Then, just hang up....

Do they offer update if new ROM comes out a year later? If they do, is it for free?

I see the pictures of the Redline, there is no button for you to choose Highway/City mode. Would this cause tons of false alerts in the city??

The button is on the top right side of your detector, just press and hold and it will go thru it sequence. The Redline is a awesome detector when you get it just do the setting on it. Make sure that you don't have x band in your city but Portland, Or. do have x band so don't shut that off.
