    Default Running 2 RDs

    Hello,

I travel all over the USA working in the oil patch. I currently run a RL coupled with a SC-55. The RL and SC-55 are mounted on a bean bag on the dash. I have been reading several post on here about running the RL with a V1 for additional protection. How much separation between the 2 units is recommended? I drive a extended cab pickup so I would not have a lot of room to separate them.

    Thanks

They'll still interfere, even separated inside the cabin. I recommend using one at a time, or using the redline with another stealth detector.

a Redline will get you owned in Texas. I run V1 all over Tx,NM,CO,AZ..The redline is very slow when it comes to radar. If a Tx Dps shoots you under 500ms you most likely wil not get a alert. Hell a Whistler is faster than a Redline.

Not true. There are tons of videos with the redline detecting I/O, some of which are mine. Just check YouTube or the video section here.

It will not detect I/O as well with a v1 next to it!

I did not have good luck with it myself, and after looking at enough tests I decided against it. Perhaps I am wrong but everyone here quotes GOL and I like their testing...the V1's speed seems to hold a huge edge over the Redline's platform.

I didn't see the Redline in that test?

I don't think you're doing it intentionally, but saying

is misleading. Instant on radar is not the same as quick trigger, which is what the redline supposedly struggles with. Most I/O shots last longer than a second, which is more than enough time for the redline to respond. Depending on the terrain, the Redline's better sensitivity increases the chance of getting an I/O shot that V1 will not.

Search youtube for videos of the Redline vs. I/O.

I figured running 2 RDs that they might compliment each other. Seems the RL has its positives and so does the V1. I guess putting 2 positives together do not make a right.

V1 in Texas, V1 in Oklahoma. I've run the Redline with my STi-R and V1 for a year now. I took the V1 out for a couple weeks just to see how big of a difference there was because of interference. Redline sucks when it comes to the whole reactivity thing. For the most part, every radar burst under a second in duration it will miss as long as those bursts are separated by a few seconds. I will never trust my Redline when run by itself, ever...If I take a trip that isn't in my car I take the V1. I/O and Q/T are prevalent in Texas and Oklahoma.

The Redline and V1 will interfere. A V1 will interfere with a 9500ci so i cant imagine you can move the V1 far enough away in your cabin. Some argue that the interference is not enough to out weigh having them run together, at worst, you get the sensitivity and reaction time of the V1, at best, you get that Plus additional sensitivity when they are not interfering.

The Redline does detect IO but the V1 is faster and will detect A short burst that the Redline will miss. My first choice in a window unit would be the V1 for this reason and for the arrows. Both are great units.

    Good luck
