    Not entirely, it means we got their attention, which is step one. Step 2 is to bombard them with so many letters it makes them realize its time to change.

    It's calling their bluff. I'm positive that slow response times and poor ramp up are on the all time high list of complaints........but yet they continue to deny it. So we are down to this, I'll open a poll here and see who's right. If we only get 10-50 responders then they're right.....there are only a few squeaky wheels full of hot air. It's time to put up or shut up and forever hold thy peace.

    I'll happily drop a $1 on the envelope and postage to get my ticky mark on the board!
    Exactly, the key here is working together. This will work if we all take the 5 minutes it takes to send an old fashioned letter. I'll be putting one in the mailbox every week from now on until this is fixed.

    Don't give up, it's worth a try. Also, why can't we have more M3 based detectors? Why are they just repackaging the same M4 detector in new "boxes", when the M3 is better. Costs would be lower if they would produce the M3 on a larger scale.

    Guys, send them a letter, or email. Be polite an courteous, maybe something will happen.

    ^^^ This is exactly what we need......some of the young blood on these forums to throw their weight into this! Come on folks, if these forums are going to have a positive impact on the industry it's going to require teamwork and a willingness to participate. Otherwise be prepared to continue to take whatever they decide to dish out.

    The new X50 and STi-Magnum are nothing NEW and do VERY LITTLE to raise the performance bar. You get a condensor lense in front of the M4 horn on one and slightly better firmware on the other. Neither one will outperform previous generations by the claimed amount in the ads!!!!

    Come on.......60 percent improvement on the Magnum over the Driver but yet still not as sensitive as the RedLine? How many of you that own both would say your RedLine is 60 percent more sensitive than the Driver? That's just not what I see here on the forums..........I see better or slightly better, and on occasion dead even.

    Likewise with the new X50. That condensor lens is a boon in front of any horn, but does it extend detections by 40 percent?

    These are half truths and I guarantee you that neither detector provides the advertised gain across the board against all bands. Worthy improvements no doubt, but you are still left with a detector that is gawd awful slow! That sluggish response will not only put you at risk of missing brief IO shots, but it also prohibits the detector from alerting to brief reflections and brief blips that rise above the noise floor at fringe detection range.

    Just look at the many examples of folks that report extraordinary performance with the STi-R or STi-R Plus when segmented with RDR off..........or look at my results with the RX65 in USA mode. These are entirely different detectors when run with these options enabled.

    The features we are talking about are bonafide proven to work and worth more than just 1 or 2 db in the real world!

    Mail the letter!

    The fact that the Escort Rep. deleted is pretty much tells you everything about their customer care... Escort doesn't care.
    They also give mod powers people to teen's from here who ban for no reason looks bad on escort

    9c, did you ever see the movie "the shawshank redemption?" when the state was bombarded with letters to fund the library?

    ROFL !!! I am still on the fence about sending a letter. Escort knows what we want, and they have a certain feature mix on their RD's just to get you to buy more RD's. I think all this is by design, it's not like we are telling them something they have not thought about. They make some great products, but they never seem to put all the features together so you get the total package. The Sti-R plus is pretty much everything we have asked for but it's $1299 and remote mounted. They could do a firmware update to the 9500ix and Redline to give you band seg and RDR options, and it would make them much more reactive and still be in a reasonable price range.

    I just like RD's, but if I was not a RD enthusiast and just wanted the best protection for the least amount of money. I think you would have to choose a V1 below is the math. I have had a V1 since 1999 and I got my 8500x50 around 2005.

    V1
    New V1 =$399
    Got the new laser /Ka band upgrade = $189
    Got POP = $55
    Tune-up =$45
    Mine is a 3.819 cost to make it the latest and greatest = $130
    Total $818 (Total cost over 12 yrs)

    Now let's do the math for just my Escort RD's. So to have the latest and greatest Escort RD over the years I have spent:

    8500x50 = $299
    9500i=$499
    9500ix=$499 (they would upgrade this for $139 but my wife wanted to keep her 9500i)
    Redline =$500
    Total $ 1797 ($1437 if I had the 9500i upgraded)

    If I used the Escort Rebate Program and got a $80 credit and turned my previous RD back in.
    8500x50 =$299
    9500i =$420
    9500ix = 139 (for a upgrade)
    Redline = $420
    Total = $1278 (total cost over 6 yrs)

    V1 is definitely the best-bang-for-the-buck.

    Escort does provide a rebate too.
