Question What to Do to Get it More Level?

So I had my detector professionally hard-wired in. They put a thick piece of Velcro (or something similar to it, the soft half) where the maroon arrow is but I took a level out a little while ago and it's still not quite level to the ground. The back needs to raise up another 1/8 to 1/4 inch. The detector touches my windshield where the two green arrows are. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to level it? Is there anything I can stick on top of the two bulges that touch my windshield? I am just worried that if I add more Velcro it will be so thick that I won't be able to slip the detector onto my windshield mount.

What did you guys do to level yours? I want the best detection possible. Is pointing 15 degrees upward a big deal? Will doubling up on the Velcro work?

Bend the windshield mount slightly if needed.

As long as it's pointing down the road straight, you'll be fine.

the 9500ix detects like how these lines are.

I'm not sure why they would do that. Is it to reduce bouncing? As dpatel01 says, you should be able to adjust this simply with a bit of tweaking the mount.

by straight down the road i mean eye ball level to road, i always go outside and look at my radar detector from outside my car to judge it's horizontal position to the road.

I use a Blendmount to mount it right to the rear view mirror. It keeps it nice and tidy.

I did have a slight bit of rattling/vibration from it and I just covered one side of the insert piece with electrical tape and used and Xacto Knife to cut the holes/trim it. It made it just a bit snugger and the rubberiness of the tape helped kill the vibration noise.
