The Blendmount rocks...I have one in my new Explorer and bought the cable to plug into the Molex connector behind the mirror for power when the car is switched on. Awesome (except not I want the EscortLive Smart cord- still it's a very high quality mount if it's available for your vehicle's mirror.

I think the supercup holds it far enough off of the windshield to not rattle.

Also you could put felt or something on the corners touching the windshield.

Mine "rattled" too until I noticed the detector wasn't "locked" onto the notch completely...it was in between notches. I adjusted it until it clicked and it's been solid and rattle-free.

The 9500 and Redline both bounce quite a bit even when mounted properly.

Depending on where the rattle is:

If it's up against the windshield you can get little rubber or felt pieces and stuck them to either the windshield of the detector where the contact points are.

    Another vote for the Blendmount!

If you have it in the Blendmount or detect it's rattling inside the clip-area you can reduce this by putting a layer of electrical tape on the piece of metal that slides into the detector. Use an Xacto knife to cut the appropriate holes of the clip. Mine was rattling just enough to be annoying before I did this. The rubber-like electrical tape really helped.

I hate the Blendmount. Way too obvious and a great way to show off you have a RD in your car to thieves and cops that are just looking for a reason to give you a ticket. You may need to bend the Escort mount a bit so the 9500ix sits correctly on the windshield.

Best way to mount IMO is above the RVM slightly resting on it. You can even use a peace of plexi glass so the suction cups will stick to the dots.

What's the plexiglass attached to the windshield with; and, how long does the plexiglass hold suction vs glass?
Also, doesn't mounting behind "the dots" reduce the laser and/or radar sensor effectiveness?

Clear double sided tape to mount the plexiglass plate, held for well over a year (resting 9500ix on RVM helped). The radar antenna peaks out below the tint and is not obstructed by the dots.

I moved it up a bit since this picture was taken (taken with flash):
