Exclamation New beta Mac Detector Tools available (2/8/12)

We have just released a new beta version of the Mac Detector Tools application that supports firmware and Defender updates for the following products:

    9500i*
    9500ix (All models)
    9500ci

You can download the beta version of Mac Detector Tools on the Product Registration page on the EscortRadar.com website.

This is only for OS versions 10.6 and 10.7

Our service reps cannot help you with this beta version of Detector Tools. Please post here or message me with any issues that you have with this version of Detector Tools.

    * Note that the 9500i is not compatible with the Defender database of fixed location camera alerts. Please contact us if you would like to upgrade your 9500i to a 9500ix to gain this and other features.

Any idea when this will support Escort live? I have a Redline with Escort live, and use my Mac- so I'd love to have that integrated as well.

There are no updates available for the SmartCord Live through Detector Tools. Escort Live app updates are done on your phone, not your computer.

I think I meant on the firmware - isn't that done through the bluetooth cord?

Exactly. For instance, if a firmware update for RedLine were available then you would download it to your SmartCord Live cord using Detector Tools. Then when you plug the cord into your RedLine you should be presented with the update notification for your RedLine just as when you first used Escort Live on the RedLine. This is what I meant when I said that there have been no updates released for the SmartCord Live yet.

Happy to see that Escort has (finally) released a version for the Mac (albeit beta). I have a 9500ci and tried to update Defender (my firmware was up to date). The process appeared to complete, i.e. loading new locations, etc but at the end I got an error message:

Merging your 9500ci Defender has FAILED!
    Unable to verify newer data

    Please advise

Just updated my 9500ix with the beta version (0.10.1 I think), worked like a charm. Thanks!

What? Escort supporting software for the Mac? I never thought I would live long enough to ever see that happen! I’m truly amazed and happy.

Thank you for not forgetting about all your mac users out there. I'm so sick of having to use my wife's Window's laptop.
