X50 cuz it has a blueeee screenOriginally Posted by FastLane

This is going to be a tough one because not that many people have used both extensively. I would just base your decision on the GOL performance results. The diffences between the two detectors are pretty minimal.
I like USA mode on the RX-65, but I like the scanning dot on the X50.
The only thing I see diffrent is that the RX65 has Ku band, and voice alerts, while the X50 doesnt. The X50 has better Laser detection but no voice alerts and that the X50 comes in either Red or Blue. That is how I decided to purchase a Blue X50. (Even though with both units Laser wont always save you)Originally Posted by brick
Will ku band ever become a threat in nj and is the ku band on the rx65 any good??
That's been a big topic as of late. Apperantly alot of people on this forum seem to think it wont be a threat for a long time.
FastLane, If you look at GOL tests it shows that the RX65 does not pick up Ku band very good.

I see alot of X and K still in NJ... the Ku switch will probably happen sometime after my X50 dies (and I have a 3 year extended warranty...).Originally Posted by FastLane

^^From Roys site^^
If you did not purchase an X50 from Roy can you still buy the extended warranty or no?
This is in the warranty agreement: "Only the original Detector product sold new with a warranty is eligible for Service under this Agreement."Originally Posted by Radar 4 Ever
If I read that right, you may have needed to buy it at time of purchase. But the next line says "The Detector must be in proper operating condition on the date of purchase of this Agreement. " Which leads me to believe you can purchase it at any time during the first year or three years, as long as your detector is working when you buy the warranty.
Excludes used items, you cannot get the warranty on a non-new unit. You also may need proof of purchase and register with escort. And if you didnt buy from an authorized reseller (like roy, or escort directly) then you are probably screwed.
