I have mounted it there and it worked fine for me. Works better for laser reception there also.

Forget laser, mount it high as possible. If it picks up laser you are done. RD do not do well with LIDAR. There a slim chance you will get scatter, but never count on it. Only way to deal with Lidar is parking sensors.

As long as the unit is pointed straight and level (maybe a degree upward or two is ok). It is like pissing in the wind, your going to get wet no matter what, still going to detect whatever in general terms. Low for lidar and high for radar, but not in every case. The headlight covers on my auto reflects laser up across the roof line, so I have the V1 above the RVM. Knowing when hit with anything is nice for you don't want to continue at the same speed, put doubt in the Leo's display if possible called fast brakes for I have gotten free from traps. Also had the auto broken into in front of me so the RD was hid from the Memphis ****** who broke in, if I had a gun to protect myself, he would have no balls to play pool with. Plus the Leos cannot see it also, another plus to mount high. Figure out what works best for you.

Feel free to contact me if you need your setup tested and/or installed. I have Lidar gun's and radar guns for all radar US bands & freq's. I've been in this hobby since 1997 and have gathered quite a bit of experience since then. I will get you protected.

Up above Rear View close to headliner. That will help shade the unit from sun, help keep it out of sight, close to eye level to see at quick glance, closer to ear in case your rockin the tuneage, and you can run hard-wire from fuse box up side post of windshield and tucked in headliner to keep it neat. Nothing worse than a darn coil cord hanging down the windshield and across the dash!
