Annoying beeping

I own an Escort 8500 50x. I would love to set it for 'auto', but is constantly rotating through X, A, H....each time with a distracting beep.

How can I keep it on 'auto'?

How can I stop it from beeping during the rotation?

It is driving to nuts...help!

??? Is it doing it by itself, it should not, something is wrong with unit if it is.
