the photo red light cameras and speed cameras are gone from the escort live database today for Arizona.... Anyone have any ideas why ??

1) There are NO speed cameras (in NA called Photo Radar) in entire USA and Canada except cities of Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Montreal. Therefore NONE in entire USA.

2) For Red Light Cameras (RLCs) all you need is an ordinary Garmin GPS (mine is a 1450 LMT), Garmin allows you to store thousands of RLC locations based on their GPS coordinates, in Toronto we have ~200 RLCs, all stored for years on my Garmin GPS, you get an RLC alert (visual and audio) with about 100 ft away from the location of each RLC.

no last week bought escort live for my sti/ 8500x50. I have been using it all week for speed camera and red light cameras. Scottsdale, Tuscon, and surprise is loaded with them . the escort live app was showing where they were and now nothing . I just get live cops and radar - laser alerts

I was saying that with an ordinary Garmin GPS you can easily store ALL RLCs and (if any) Photo Radar locations in your Garmin GPS Memory, therefore no need for another device in your car, your Garmin GPS device will alert you, visually and audio, anytime you approach a RLC or Photo Radar location. And of course you're getting the mapping and navigation features all within very same Garmin GPS unit.

Anyhow, IF Photo Radar devices DO exist in your area, how the hell do they look like, personally I've never seen one in my entire life!!!

Photo Radar has been outlawed in Ontario in 1995 (it was alive just for a year and in those times was planted inside a Chevy Van, a cop inside the van operating the photo radar, it used to run on K-band, but again, that was 1995, no more photo radar in Ontario since then, I guess technology has changed a lot since then) and no political party has ever tried to bring it back, political suicide to reintroduce such obvious revenue tool for the local budgets, everybody knows it has nothing to do with safety, it's all more revenue for our damn govts.

Can you make a video or maybe take a photo on how a (modern) photo radar system looks like in your area?

I'm starting to understand I was wrong and therefore I need to apologize for my wrong assumptions your (once great) country and its people still enjoys the same personal freedoms America used to be famous for. I guess my America starts in 1776 and sadly stops in Jan 2009, therefore I'm glad I don't live under your Big-Govt Police State-like Obama Rule.

Also I'm not used with the current Photo Radar (that's how it's called in Ontario) system/technology, photo radar was outlawed in 1995 by the "evil right-wing" Ontario Conservatives and no other Ontario govts ever tried to bring it back.

Back in 1995, photo radar used to be "something" hidden inside a police van parked off the road with a real cop operating the radar inside the van, I think it ran on K-band. No idea how the modern photo radar looks like, IF you have some current photos/videos on how this stuff works in Chicago, or Arizona, or elsewhere in the States, feel free to upload them in this thread.

Last year I was in Chicago for a 3-day visit, very nice city, obviously I totally disagree with your Mayor and his very leftist Obama policies, didn't come across any photo enforcement area therefore have no idea how those "speed cameras" really look like.

And as for the Garmin issue, Garmin (like any other GPS device) does not store your Custom POIs automatically, but as soon as you drive by AND you see something "interesting" for you, for instance speed cameras and/or RLCs, just touch the Garmin screen while very close to that particular POI, Garmin will then SAVE that location in its memory and then, when you have some free time, name that location like "SC 1" or "RLC 1", etc., so this is for saving Custom POIs while driving, for the actual alert there is a little program that does that job for you, so then anytime you drive by that particular POI (SC or RLC) it will alert you visually (a flashing red bar at the top of the Garmin screen) plus audio as well, never done it for SCs (no such thing in Ontario) but I have stored ~200 RLCs in my Garmin 1450 LMT's memory, and the program works beautifully. If you don't know how to do it, I'll be glad to give you step-by-step instructions.

So, how the hell these modern "speed cameras" look like in Obama's Police-State New America? LOL

Yes, we have them ,but did not have speed cams last year when you visited. They've been up a year, but just started issuing tickets the past 4 months. We've has red light cameras for about 10 years and there's a TON of them here. We also have police vans for speed cams with officers and also automated vans for construction zones. Automated enforcement is rampant here.

Btw, there's a ton of US cities that have them as well, particularly out east.
