    Default RJ9 for SmartRadar

Hey guys, Im looking to extend the remote screen wire for a smart radar and had no idea how hard it is to find a female to male rj9 cable. Looking for like 4ish ft. Does anyone know a place that sells them? Ive come up blank on ebay, amazon, home depot, lowes, monoprice, etc

    Thanks!

Have you thought about a RJ9 cable with a coupler? Would that even work?

yes, I finally found a 7ft rj9 and a female to female coupler. unfortunately, the only place I can find it is an overseas website with questionable reviews

Im actually returning the Smartradar. too many things I just dont like compared to my v1. it was a fun month of testing though

Too many things you don't like about the SmartRadar? Seems more like too complicated compared to your 15 year old V1... Enjoy all the excessive falses and extremely dated styling of even the newest V1.

Call Escort, they should have parts. Though the SmartRadar is discontinued.

Ya, V1 is a hard unit to come from, its unique features are like nothing else. Especially with the YaV1 app!

Too bad they wont change the antiquated look of the V1 and simplify the programming, its just so 70's. lol

Just not enough options on the SmartRadar vs V1 of today, the V1 has concealed display options and remote speaker volume options plus it uses a regular cable you can get anywhere. Better yet if you update a V1 to the current version and get the V1C BT option you can run YaV1 that literally blows away any RD/App combo, and makes it exceptionally quiet.

YaV1 is an awesome app and makes the V1 very current and quiet, though still looks so 70's: http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...1-support.html or direct: Official YaV1 Support Section - Radar Detector & Laser Jammer Forum

Well... All it takes is to extend the cable in the smartradar display. Any electronics repair place can do this for a fee. The mute button on a smart cord direct wire acts as remote volume when you keep it held down and smartradar is much smaller and easier to conceal than a V1. It does have more filtering which can be good or bad, depending on the tactics used in your area. I've been happy with the results I have with mine, I consider it a steal at under $200 for a new one.

Whatever makes a person happy though.
