And yes, I'm talkin' to BOTH of you!

    'Nuff said.

Now...about that Escort Passport review...didn't someone on here recently hint at a full-tilt-boogie one that might be coming? Not wanting to mention any names mind you, but it rhymes with Trail Fly.

    Ride safe,

Woah Nelly! Yeah I need to pen one. It's on my (long) list of things to do. The G5 rollout is consuming just about all of my time at the moment. The pending reviews are going to have to wait. I'm planning a trip to FL mid March. I'll drive it and use that as an opportunity to knock some of these reviews out including one on a Max2.
    WHAT? The Max 2?? AAAAAARRRGGGGHHHH!

It's the Escort Passport no-numbers-attached, no Max nothin', the plain ol' Escort Passport that we're talkin' here.

Even the turorials on set up to be found aren't actually what you do with the Passport, the doggone task bar on the Escort Live! is different on the Passport, we're stumbling around blind here and...we're gonna get ANOTHER review of the Max 2?

I'm gonna cry...it's just too much I tells ya, too much...*sob*...I feel so...alone...so abandoned...and a little hungry. Yeah, I think I could go for a lil' snack...

    But I digress.

    PASSPORT! JUST PLAIN OL' PASSPORT!

    <BAG>

    Ride safe,

    CR
Yer scarin' the horses, yourself now (under the hood).

I was very hard on the initial Max and I owe them and my followers a fair update. The product is not without flaws (what is?), but it's come a long way and I promised them a redux.

But yes, the PP will be on that list as well!

BTW, I have a bunch of real-world videos of the new Passport on one of my YT channels:

Whether they are informative or not, may be subject to debate, but I hope they're at least entertaining.

    Concurred. Thank you.

Now, seriously here...I think Marty and I are feeling a bit of "red-headed step child syndrome" here.

I'm a newbie, so maybe the deal is that the Escort Passport (no numbers, no other nomenclature) is just so new (?) that info is limited on it...?

Sure, I've seen Roy's reviews, resulting in my buying the unit, and being VERY happy with it ("thrilled" would not be too strong a word, but...a little "sissified" maybe) for the virtually all city driving I've done with it so far, but when you go to the tutorial for "expert" set up (just as one example), the set up is NOT for the plain 'ol Passport, but a regurgitation of the set up for one of the other (admittedly similar, but not 'zackly the same) units.

The info is close enough, but it's being done through the Escort Live app, and...that screen IS NOT the screen I see with my Passport (doesn't even have the gear icon for set up), and furthermore I cannot DO the set up through the smart phone as shown. I have to go to the Passport unit itself and do what I am being told had otter been done through the smart phone. Which works fine, but was discovered by trial and error versus following the tutorial.

So...what's the deal-e-o? Is the "plain" Passport that new? Or is it just that it ain't the bee's knee's of the RD network, is too mid-grade to warrant close inspection...?

As I mentioned before on this subject...I feel so...abandoned...*sob*...so...ummm...thirsty...tim e for a beer I think...

    Ride safe,

    CR

The new Passport is relatively new and is not regarded as well as as the Redline and the Max. The Passport is a good detector for your average driver.
