    Default Bad merger!

Escort really made a big mistake buying up Cobra. I won't buy either. A sad union has produced no better Cobra's and suspect of Escort. The Rad 450 is crap. They all still leak, and their range is on par with Rocky Mountain wares. How sad for Escort, and their 19 band Cobra's.

Actually, it was Cobra who bought Escort a few years back. Everyone thought that this would turn out badly, yet the opposite is true. Let's see...

Cobra has eliminated their hyperbole "19 band" advertising. Cobra's two top of the line radar detectors are based on Escort designs. The Cobra DualPro 360° is an Escort MAX, without the directional arrows, and packaged in a more streamlined case. It actually looks rather nice, and it is priced for $50 less. The arrows really are not needed since the DualPro's display shows you two radar signal strength graphs -- one for front and one for rear. Cobra has allowed Escort to create new radar detector models based on customer feedback. The Beltronics line has been eliminated. Before Cobra bought Escort, Escort already had begun minimizing the Beltronics line. This actually is a good thing since eliminating the Beltronics lineup has resulted in less consumer confusion in terms of what really good radar detector to buy. Most consumers did not realize that Beltronics and Escort have been one and the same company for nearly two decades.

The upshot is that, and contrary to both my and many other people's expectations, the merger has turned out to be rather good.

I stand corrected on the merger http:// Cedar Electronics — Monomoy Capital Partners It was a mutual merger to save both companies from ruin. It has left me nothing but suspect about mutual false marketing, and leaky truck stop Cobra's still pissing off other rd customers who think their detectors suck as a result. Now we pay extra for additional electronics to block out Cobra splatter. Escort laid down with a dog and got up with fleas. I don't take "overt false advertising lightly." They both should be sued.

    FYI:
A little search reveals the "hyperbole, aka, fraud" continues all over the intertubes where Cobra's are sold. While you say this advertising has been discontinued, (I'll take that at face value) the rest of vendors "have not changed their false advertising of Cobra 19 band rd's."

Vine on Amazon seems to think the Cobra DualPro is out of this world, after 4 out of 7 posts in Amazon. Think he's a hussy? Ass kisser? I think he's bought and paid for by Cobra. The other three seemingly "honest reviews" think the DualPro is smoke and mirrors loaded with serious false reports!
