Today I was bored so I went to radio shack and got a 5 dollar switch (like the ones with the cover over them in a plane), and 1.68 worth of male & female connectors. I took my car's center console apart, and wired it up, cut out a peice to fit it next to my hand brake. I must say, it looks good and works VERY well, it did drop the voltage to my detector by ~.6 volts (14.3-13.8 w/car running 12.8v w/car off) but I was already in the safe zone, and still am. I was mainly worried about the changes in voltage during starting up and turning off the car, and the ocassional popo from behind seeing my RD screen.
Direct wire kit
About 6 feet of wire ~12 or 14 guage I think (for switch ground, connecting voltage to swtich, and slightly extending the direct wire kit + lead)
5 Male & female connectors (like in the kit)
switch (could be any you want)
~ 1 hours time
Ill get some pictures and in-depth instructions if anyone wants to know/see.
