Interesting, i thought the reason V1 and everyone else suggest a high mount is to see over and through the windows of the cars in front of you. Rather than try to see through the body of the car in front of you, or try to see under a very tall truck.

I wonder why V1's sight states this:
"Mounting down in the grille amounts to a low tower. You also have the problem of traffic ahead blocking the signal. The only time I've seen a grille mount outperform a windshield mount was a case where the detector could look under the truck just ahead. Normally, a high mount has an advantage because it's up where it can see through the windows of other traffic."

Sure, if there is a truck it would be worse. But how often are you using a truck as your rabbit?

I read somewhere on here (forget exactly where, even though it was yesterday) that yes, it is the same size, although there are 2, 1 for K and Ka, and one for X.

So far here are the list of zombie excuses and they all crack me up.

The CI is getting reflections off the asphalt and the V1 isn't???
The CI is mounted 'LOWER'???? This can't be serious.
The CI's antenna is larger than the V1's.

Get the shovel boys, the shi!t is getting deep.

The only plausible argument as to why the V1 wasn’t as sensitive as the ci other than the ci is a better unit is the possibility of radar being reduced because of the slope of the windshield
.

I would not even count that as a valid excuse if you are looking for raw sensitivity (when installed as it was intended, no one is going to run a V1 in the grill).

There is nothing to be ashamed of, the CI costs more than double the V1 when you factor out the shifters. I doubt performance is double. So cost efficiency-wise, the V1 is doing pretty well.

Alright these excuses have to stop. I understand completly though, seriously. The v1 has outperformed every detector in the market for many many years, thats why you guys bought it. You were always able to say that my detector is better than yours...

Now there is a new detector that can outperform it and not by a little a lot. I would be pissed too. Im being serious as i can be, honestly i would be pissed like you guys are. But there's nothing you can say that is going to help improve your arguments.

If it was a couple hundred feet or a few seconds difference yes. But were talking a 10 second high triple digits difference. Nothing is going to make it as good as the ci. But i'm sure being Valintine they will make a detector soon that will out perform the ci.

There's a simple way to test it if you guys want to though. Put the v1 outside like on top of your car with the windows or something down and test it agianst the ci in the grill. That way you can't say there are obstructions in the way really. I see that as being an easy way to test it if you guys still belive in the crap your saying

I have seen my CI, Veil Guy's , Staton's, DJram's, etc. SPANK the V1 in sensitivity . How much more proof does one need. I have owned over a dozen V1's since 1995 and trust me when I tell you the STiR and 9500CI is a game changer. THIS is the type of unit I have been begging for years! Now only is the CI feature rich it has the sensitivity to back it up. It is an AMAZING RD and best of all when it alerts not only is it a cop I have PLENTY of time to kick back and enjoy the encounter! For example today I ran into IO K band and I received over a minute warning on the same highway that I have had NUMEROUS IO encounters over the years. NOTHING has ever given me this type of warning
