I am already tired of the boring argument that the difference between a 9500CI & V1 is like comparing apples to oranges.
Today on my way out of town, I would like to prove to you that any comparison is indeed VERY VALID, and you should take NOTICE. As I've said before at heart there primary mission is to DETECT RADAR.
Today after about a mile of getting onto I-64W my 9500CI alerted strongly to 33.8 and I coasted down to the legal speed limit. Then as the ramp up is dying down, I get another hit and it goes back to full strength. All this while my incredible freak 3.813 V1 is quiet as a church mouse. Once I could visually see the officer and noticed he was running FORWARD FACING 33.8, that's when the V1 finally ALERTED. When I was in the Kill Zone.
So why did I post this in the GoL section?
Because I've already heard the zombies screaming that during our mini radar test we used a non-real world scenario. When in fact the primary purpose of the test like everything we do in GoL is to make things as hard as possible for what ever product we are testing. In return you find out what performs the best in the absolute worst case scenario. Today I would like to think an officer setting on the crest of a hill shooting forward facing 33.8 is a pretty WORST CASE.
I say if you bolt the V1 to the bumper right next to the 9500, it'll probably alert just the same

If your local police dept. operates their guns upside down, they will be producing these signals and your upside-down detector will pick up just fine."

No i don't think so, that would be a good test though. Plus havn't people done that already?
John Turner sells a remote mount kit for the V1 but it's crazy expensive. At the end of the day it's not going to make a difference. My V1 is mounted a good 3 / 4 FT higher than the CI antenna and it's still getting destroyed.

Yeah and wasn't it almost 1000 feet more than the v1? There's no way you can compare that. The windshield isn't going to reduce sensitivity like that
